Parent for Child Student
"Jacob has been teaching my 10 year-old son Stevie the ukulele for over a year and a half now. He has been a wonderful teacher, and my son has made great progress under his tutelage. Before he met Jacob he didn't know how to play the uke at all. Jacob is also sharing with Stevie a wealth of songs from a broad range of folk, country, rock, pop, and standards. Some of these include: "We'll Meet Again", "Bad Bad Leroy Brown", "Blue Moon of Kentucky", "House of the Rising Sun", "Blue Suede Shoes", "In My Life", "Hot Tamales and They're Red Hot", and "Don't Worry, Be Happy". Stevie is getting a sound musical education through Jacob. Jacob is doing a great job of not only teaching Stevie the ukulele, but also the theory of music behind it. He gives Stevie homework, which Stevie dutifully does. Jacob also goes out of his way to borrow sheet music books from the library so he can lend them to Stevie. Most importantly, Stevie has a lot of fun with Jacob and always looks forward to his next lesson, which to me is a sign of a great teacher. I would definitely recommend Jacob."
"Working with Jacob was better than I could've ever expected. He was super supportive and responsive. We hit the ground running with songs I had only dreamed of being able to play. On top of that, he gave me the confidence to perform for friends and family. I would 100% recommend him as a teacher."
"I had never played the ukulele, or any instrument for that matter, before meeting Jacob. I remember on our first lesson I learned three songs, which is three more than I ever expected to learn. From there, we would go back and forth each lesson learning a collection of songs from Beatles to Kinks to Stevie Wonder. My favorite thing about working with him is how patient, nurturing, funny, and supportive he is!"
“Jacob has a great disposition for teaching and a clear passion for the ukulele, which makes him the perfect teacher for this instrument! His lessons are fun and engaging, and he boosts his students with the confidence and the know-how needed to be successful. Thank you, Jacob!”
